The Levator Scapulae originates from the transverse processes of the C1-C4 vertebrae (top of neck) and attaches to the medial border of the scapula (shoulder blade).
- Look straight ahead.
- Turn your head 45 degrees one way.
- Hold your head with your hand and pull your chin down toward your chest whilst maintaining the angle. Have the opposite arm behind your back to try and keep the opposite shoulder down.
- Hold for 15 seconds as part of a maintenance or post-workout routine.
- Hold for 30 seconds as part of a developmental stretching routine.
